So I have two small skin tags on the side of one of my breasts. I was thinking that i would cut off the blood circulation by tying a string on it and waiting for it to fall of. This is very embarassing for me to talk about. But I have to get it out there since I am desperate for answers. I am 20 years old and have been with my boyfriend for seven years. We started having sex a year ago... slowly learning things. As time went on I felt I wasn't normal. In the beginning my bf was a premmie and has progressed to being able to last 30 mins. But I notice that whilst having sex I get this feeling that I have to pee which I am told that if left alone will lead to a normal orgasm. During the beginning though my father was till alive so sex was rushed. My sister's baby was born at 26 weeks in February. He was a twin but his sister did not survive. He has had numerous surgeries for various reasons. A few weeks ago he had a bout of meningitis and a blood infection. Today she found out the results of a recent MRI and the doctors told her he had two fluid filled cysts on either side of his brain stem and that part of his brain has changed in composition and may not function properly which could result in sight damage and cerebral palsy. Unless your hair gets REALLY tangled easily, you should think about having a least some of it down. What I would do is part your hair on the side and french braid a section in the front. Today, I had an experience with a soldier in the local grocery store, I shook his hand and I thanked him for everything he has done for our country. Bells Palsy any1 know any remedies or how to cope with this?

I had it a couple years ago. My dr put me on prednisone and valtrex. At the same time I was going to a chiropractor for a recent car accident. He massaged my neck to try and get more blood flow to my face. Seemed to work the palsy was gone within four weeks. I know it really sucks because it is your face but just try to relax. I was so stressed at the tome I got it and I'm sure that us why I got it.

My ex boyfriend and I have a 2 year old daughter. Throughout our 3 and a half year relationship my exes mom usually took my daughter about once a week to spend time with her. I would say that it is better to be willing to give the baby up for adoption then abort it. I feel that when people abort babies with Downs Syndrome it is euthanasia. Even though I can't understand not wanting a baby just because of this I wouldn't say it was wrong. If you truly would not be able to handle it it would be better to have the baby be with a family that could. I am pregnant with my first baby and when I did my 18 week ultrasound they told me my baby had an abnormality in his heart that some babies with Downs have had. It turned out to be nothing but in the week I thought he might in no way would have given him up. If he had ended up with it I would have loved him just as much. If you were pregnant and had bonded with your baby you may feel differently. These children may be more difficult to raise but they are amazing kids. I have spent time with kids with both because my mother is a special education teacher and they are truly sweet and just a gift. I consider my baby a gift no matter how he is mentally or any disability he may have.

I have always had a problem with my ears from hearing to horrible ear infections. Finally someone recommended me to an ENT doctor and he was able to figure out what the problem was and it turns out it was an easy fix. The upside to seeing someone specialized in the ears is that they know exactly what they are looking at and then can pinpoint the problem quicker then a normal doctor or someone just skimming over things in the ER. Should parents/guardians ensure their child can swim?

Hi, I was just curious if anyone besides me thinks it's a parent's responsibility to ensure that their child knows how to swim. In my opinion, it's a skill that I feel no one should be deprived of, but some parents just never ensure their child is taught how to do. I feel it's like riding a bike or tying a shoe: It's one of those things every child should learn growing up, especially if they live on the coast or close to a beach (not sure if the bike riding and shoe tying examples were good, but you guys get my point, I'm sure). If not swim, at least float or keep their head above water. There are plenty of children who grow into adults not knowing how to swim. I'm actually one of those people. I'm 20 and cannot swim (and neither can my 3 brothers), so I'm currently taking classes at the YMCA. I was talking to some of my co-workers (who's ages range from 21-23) about it and they can't swim either. Anyway, I just got tired of it. Every time I go to a pool, I have to stay in the shallow end, or hold the edge when I go to the deep end. I ask some of my friends that do know to try to show me but no luck. That's why I went to the YMCA to get a trained instructor to show me (and those adults are grown now, so they can take it upon themselves to do the same). Classes are going good. I know how to float now so I'm progressing. I just feel I should've been taught sooner, especially when I was living with my father years back since my father is retired Navy. I can't remember back that far as a child if I had asked him or not, but a child shouldn't have to ask. It should be obvious to a parent that they should teach or make arrangement to have their child learn how to swim. However, at 20 I can't sit around and wonder why I can't swim when I'm well enough to take it upon myself, so that's why I took action (although I wish I did it sooner, like, in my high school years). But it's not like a little child can teach him/herself or go on their own to the YMCA or community center and sign up. I know there are some limitations for some, like paying for the lessons. However, it shouldn't take the 18 years it takes for a child to grow up for a parent to save up money for swimming lessons. Also, there may not be any source of water nearby. But most cities have a public pool, community center, YMCA or something for the public nearby, so MOST parents shouldn't have the problem of finding water to teach their child. Also, some children may have permanent disabilities, which anyone can obviously understand. Maybe the parent cannot teach because the parent can't swim either. But that parent can make arrangements for someone else to teach the child or sign them up for classes like I mentioned earlier. I'm not necessarily labeling parents as downright awful, horrible, neglectful parents if they don't ensure their child is taught, but I'm saying that parents with a typical average child should take responsibility and DO THEIR BEST to ensure that their child can swim at an early age, as opposed to that child growing up not knowing this skill. I know when I have kids, I'm making sure that they are taught at an early age so they don't have to endure being an adult without knowing how to swim. You never know, it may just save that person's life if they're ever in danger in the water. I apologize for the length, but what is your opinion on this?

I am currently deployed in the air force and they teach us the same thing with a pistol. To square up to the target (isosceles) so if we get hit it hits our plate/ body armor. Ability to eat for children with cerebral palsy?

The child i take care of and love like my own is now tube fed. He loved to eat before. I started feeding him baby foods at a year and a half then we slowly moved up to more solid foods like breads and pastas. He is four now and last year after his swallow study, the doctors deemed it to dangerous for him to eat or drink anything by mouth. He now has a G-tube. The tube works great but he is always wanting food like ice cream and whatever he sees other people eating. How can I help build up his control enough for him to be able to eat normally again, or just give him a drink of water? The problem lies with controlling the muscles in his throat. I got bells palsy in february I recovered fairly quickly but was ahving recurrent ear pain I saw a nuerologist a few days ago but this morning I, Like you woke up to my upper lip twitching its still going full force and of course my thought is bells palsy rearing its ugly face again too. But keep in mind stress, mental or physical exhaustion and vitamin issues can all cause facial twitching and the odds of a bells palsy recurrence is low (5-15%) and even lower that it would effect the other side of your face. I wish you luck and hope that you dont have to go through it again, I know I dont want to. Never hurts to talk to a specialist though - It eased my concerns a bit.

My fianc�e is an EMT. He has been working at the same place for about 8 months. He has had a mild form of cerebral palsy all his life. I understand. My uncle died at an early age of 16. Even though I was not born, I have heard stories. My family grew apart and constantly fought. Try having family nights or opening up to your mom and dad. Tell them exactly how you feel. They will understand. Tell them you would like to have family time. If worse comes to worst, try going to a family counselor. It really helped my mom, sister and I have a better relationship after my sister's dad and my mom got a divorce. Also, hanging out with friends really helps me. Going to amusement parks or movies (anything fun really) helps you forget about the bad things in life. My 2 month old son arches back a lot and gets stiff?

so... he has a mild case of colic, and he is a very gassy baby. we burp him after feedings, and he is not constipated. he gets both breastmilk and enfamil gentle ease formula. whenever we lay him down, and sometimes while holding him, he will turn and stare to one side, and its difficult to get his attention for 30 seconds to a minute, like he is spacing out. also while laying down, he will roll to his side and arch his back and neck, and be very stiff. he cries a lot too. any ideas? i read up on this behavior and, just like the internet does, it gave me many causes. mental retardation, acid reflux, cerebral palsy, hialtal hernia, and the list goes on. i dont think its a delay because he is smiling, cooing, and lifting his head like he should, but i dont know for sure. i brought up hernia to his dr. and she said, no way to know without and xray, no treatment, better to not do the xray and see what happens. any input or suggestions appreciated. thanks

Monoplegia Cerebral Palsy in 19 month old and arachnoid cyst?

My son is nearly 19 1/2 months old and he can say mum, dad, bub, nan and yum (5 words), he doesn't seem to be even attempting to really make many sounds. He didn't start sitting up until 7 1/2 months, crawling at 10 1/2 months and just started walking at 18 months old. He went in for an MRI last week because he has low muscle tone in one leg, the leg with low muscle tone(left leg) is also longer than the other leg by nearly 2cm. He limps really badly, walking with the longer leg out to the side, his walks on the inside of his ankle as well. Has anyone heard of anything like this before and if so, please post your thoughts, thanks. ADDED: This was the post I put up last week, but I have been given a diagnosis since then, I have been told my little boy have monoplegia cerebral palsy (Left leg only) and upon looking at MRI have found an arachnoid cyst, should i be worried about this?? Apparently completely unrelated to his leg problem. Why wont my doctor induce me when he keeps saying the baby is big?

Hi. I think I'm paranoid now, because of my neighbor. I'm in a new state and pregnant with my 3rd child, so I have a different OB than my 1st 2 pregnancies. The doctor has been telling me for weeks that the baby is big. I am now 39 weeks pregnant and he still refuses to induce even though I have tons of pain (on my pelvis) when i walk. My neighbor apparently had her daughter delivered by this doctor and says to me, "Oh he tells everybody the baby is big so he can do a C-Section because he was sued for malpractice because a baby was born with cerebral palsy He told me that, I had a C-Section and my baby wasn't even big." NOW I'M TERRIFIED. I don't know what to do. He has been in practice 35 years, but I don't want a C-Section. I've never had one before. How should I approach this issue?

Ok a little background, I am 20 and I have cerebral palsy, (spastic diplegia) and basically I use a cane and I used to wear braces on my legs (because I "pop" back in my knees) until like 7th grade when i decided they aren't cute and I don't wanna wear them anymore. Well I saw a doctor on Monday who said it would be in my best interest to wear them again to save my knees because in the future I could really ruin my knees. Ok so I can't decide if I want to heed his advice and just do it or just ignore it and take my chances. Okay so I have question for people. I have always wanted to take up non competitive martial arts but have very bad lazy eye in one eye with one good eye along with cerebral palsy. So my main concern is not only be would I be able to do martial arts with a lazy eye without glasses of 20/200 and if I can what type of protective eye wear should I use when it comes to protecting my eye. Sorry this is so long. This is only about a half of what I want to share. My uncle got a heart attack and it was very shocking. We went to meet him in the hospital and it was about five of us in the room along with two doctors. There was a lot of equipment and wires attached to my uncle and occasionally beeps would go off. Before going in the room I felt uncomfortable in general. In the room I was getting very tired and I got this rush in my head. My sight started to blur and my legs were getting weak. I didn't say anything. I was unbalancing and catching my stance but no one saw. My sight got more burry and I needed to get out the room. I thought I was going to fall down. It was like I was zoning out of the real world. I told my sister next to me something like "I need to get out" or "Help me get out". I almost couldn't hear myself talking either. I just left the room and walked to a chair. I was wobbly, my eye sight was very blurred, and my head was still getting that feeling but very strongly. I tried closing my eyes and just tried to relax while resting my head on my hand. It was slowly going away and my sight became less blurred. I’ve never experienced anything like this and I’ve been in hospital rooms maybe twice before. I’m totally fine now but it think it was because hospitals are uncomfortable in general and there was just so much stuff going on in that room at once. Of course I’m telling this so I can hear some thoughts or things I should know about this experience. Thanks.

Can I give my rabbit string?

I would like to get my rabbit more toys, but at the moment I can't just drive to the pet store. Considering that I'm only 14. But I would like to know if I could give my two rabbits some string? Should I be satisfied with what I have with girls?

Ok well I get a lot of girls in total from the year of 2010 and 2011 i have gotten at least 15 girls or so. not in the sense of relationship but all like intense flirting. The thing is I haven't been in a relationship for years. I'm not really complaining though because like i always have a girl in my arms but in the end we always stay in that friend zone. My left pupil is larger than my right. Why?

I was playing a softball game for fun and a pitch was made to home base. The pitch was off and hit my glasses at my left eye. My glasses probably prevented a black eye and massive damage. But now my pupil is larger than the other, and my eye had little contact. Why is this? The ball wasn't really fast either. Is it Anisocoria? Is it a parasympathetic nerve defect, possibly an oculomotor nerve palsy? I hope not.... Thanks for the answer! :D

I can totally understand why her parents give her past boyfriends a hard time considering she is disabled. They are being protective. That's their baby girl and the thought of her depending on someone else or maybe even getting her heart broken probably scares them. It might worry them that a guy would want to date her for the wrong reasons you know. You just need to meet them/and or personally talk to them and let them know that your intentions of dating their daughter are good. Don't worry about the future. Just live in the present and be happy with the relationship you have with her. Not everyone is lucky enough like you to be in love.

Banned from child's classroom?

My daughter was born with cerebral palsy and then was diagnosed with cancer when she was 5 years old. She wears an AFO and I had made arrangements with her school that it would be put on at school because they did not want her wearing her outside shoes inside and she can't walk in the AFO without shoes. But my problem is that the teacher was not putting the AFO on her and when I talked and talked and my husband talked to the teacher and nothing happened, the AFO still wasn't being put on so I went to the principal and it still wasn't being done so I went to Leadership services and now my daughter's teacher is claiming that I am harassing her and I am no longer allowed to walk my daughter to her class. When she was receiving chemo she had a few near death experiences and has developed some separation issues so me walking her to her class is a big deal.

Worked for no-profit health care residential home for years. Staying with 2-7 at one time in the Hospital when going back for about a month admitted with different kinds of flues and other illnesses. Well I ended up getting sick my self sometimes hurt my back from repositioning. Starting with the ER with high fevers.to ICU till their well enough to go home. Well I get fired for being absent for taking care of the Cerebral Palsy even feeding while in advocating for each resident. How to raise twin 8 year old boys with disabled parents?

I am the oldest daughter of the disabled mom in question. I was born as a normal child and raised to be a very smart person, by my grandparents despite the fact my mom has cerebral palsy. She has the intellect of a 6 year old and she can do her adl's but cannot function with IADL's. Now I am in my 20's and now I have 8 year old twin brothers. They are become quite troublesome, stealing and taking advantage of my mom. The father isnt around, he has CP also. How can they be raised in an environment where it is safe and nurturing. Despite my mom is and overall good mom despite her condition, she cannot raise them alone because of her disablity. My grandmother is getting old and there is only so much she can do before she is extremely tired, yet refuses to get any outside help because everything is under control as she put it. But I am worried about my brothers as they get older. They have no male role model influence except my uncle who comes around once a month. They are involved in sports, but thats it. They are being raised as if they are women. What can we do about this

Dominant or submissive?

I have 4 poms, 2 older ones (M & F) & 2 1 1/2 yr M, both of which we got at the same time at 8 and 12 wks old back in Jan. of 2010. At 9 mo.old (Aug. 2010) they starting having minor aggession issues with each other ONLY-older dogs not involved. 1 day it turned aggressive with Bailey pinning Joey down. We tried to pull Bailey off Joey thinking that would do it, but Bailey was not letting go. I did a stupid thing & tried to pry his jaws open only for him to release his jaws & clamp down on my finger, which once he realized it was me, he let go. My husband & I were shocked as we never witnessed this behavior of aggression in the 20 years we have owned poms as pets. Our dogs have had fights but nothing that aggressive. The "boys" were both immediately neutered & separated until we figured out what to do. I've been told to give 1 up to solve the problem, but my dogs are my kids & I refuse to give 1 up without a fight myself. Have done a ton of research on dog aggression, how to handle it, sibling rivalry & the famous "littermate syndrome" which is the category I believe I fall under & feel really stupid that I didn't know alot of this stuff beforehand. Looking back I realize we probably should have let the fight continue & maybe it would have been settled then & there, but I was so terrified that Joey was going to get hurt that I couldn't take the risk, Bailey is 3 wks younger than Joey but also much stronger. Here is the "short" version of the steps we have taken. In Aug. they have had to be in separate rooms for about 3-4 months because they couldn't stand the sight of 1 another. Around Dec.they could at least glance at each other without being aggressive but still didn't want to be in the same room for long without trying to fight. In Jan. I decided that I needed to do more basic training with them as far as sitting, stay, wait, down, etc. & that seemed to work very well. We have been slowly reintroducing themselves to one another for the past 5 mo. now & have made GREAT progress. We are FINALLY to the point where they sometime initally growl at each other but then stop. Keep in mind they are always on leashes or we pick them up to transfer from room to room, & have NOT had any voluntary physical contact with each other whatsoever for the past 10 months. When they are in the same room, we keep them on long leashes with one being tied to one area of the room & the other tied to another area where they can just reach each other without having contact. This has gone very well on most occasions. In the past 3 weeks, we have occassionally let them have more contact (head to head) but not full body & NEVER off the leashes or without 1 of us in between them. At 1 point they were actually licking each other & play barking but eventually would both show signs of domininace with each other, paw on back, head on shoulder, etc, & then eventually lead to Bailey's stare and stance, then the warning growl, & we would quickly have to intervene So finally to the point of my question, in my research I have read that if we have 2 dominant dogs we need to decide which 1 is more dominant & then reward that dog for his dominant behavior by feeding, walking first, etc. I do not agree with this at all. I don't believe you should reward a dog for being a bully but I guess that's not the issue here. If we are to do the next step, I need to know for sure who is more dominant. We believe it is Bailey but are not sure. These are their signs. Bailey is definitely the 1st with the dominant stare & stance but usually doesn't start the dominance signs 1st as far as paw placement & usually doesn't growl first. He's more like a lion waiting for his prey type(I know that's not funny, but I'm trying to find humor in my situation) However, Joey is always more cautious if he knows Bailely is in the next room but always barks or growls first when he's coming towards Bailey. (By that I mean for example, Joey will be upstairs with my husband & when they come down, they are separated by gates but Joey knows Bailey is on the other side of the gate), When they have close contact and are behaving, Joey will ALWAYS be the 1st one to turn away from eye contact. I know this is a submissive sign but he also shows signs of dominance too. I believe Joey acts more submissive but he will definitely respond back if Bailey starts the fight which I know is understandable. But he has never shown full submission and I don't believe he ever wil Also, every time they have close contact, Joey will turn around & put his butt up to Bailey head. Bailey never does this to Joey. Is this dominance or submission? Please no lectures on being selfish & trying to keep them both.They are not in any way being neglected or deprived of anything. If anything, it me & my husband who have had to change our lives but believe they are worth it. Also, do you think after all this

Can you be best friends with someone that's twenty-three years older than you?

I'm a fifteen year old girl with cerebral palsy and one of my assistants at school who is in the SPED department at my school and I have gotten really close. We tell each other almost anything (like how we both had to have surgery and get a brazillian from our surgeons or about how she was in a mental institution for trying to kill herself when she was fifteen.) And we can swear around each other and we laugh all the time. The thing is, she's 37 and she's very buddy-buddy with a lot of the other kids that she works with or used to work with, but I don't know the full extent of their relationship. I'm not jealous at all, it's just I don't know if she is or not or if that would weird her out or not, but we laugh all the time, trip over our own feet and say, "I love you!", we could talk for hours on end, she defended me against a girl I didn't like, we have the EXACT same view on all of our mutual "kinsman", she told me when she lost her virginity, she told me she had shooting pain in her butt, we have inside jokes about my RR teacher, she bought me a birthday present, I showed her some of my really intense, profound poetry. We've told each other secrets, she could tell when I was upset when everyone else couldn't. Does that not say best friend to you? And if so, should I tell her. I was planning on telling her the day we go off-island for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts (SOMA) Cape Cod School Day Games, which is a sporting event type thingy with my Adaptive PE class and the teachers that are in APE with us, because it is supposed to be one of the best days of your life I heard from EVERYONE who went last year and I want to find a really special moment to tell her. I really didnt take the time to read everythign you wrote.. but.. ADHD is NOT a serious condition at all.. i doubt its even a real condition. They just use it as an excuse to medicate little brats who are hyper and need to get the **** kicked out of them. ADHD is entirely overdiagnosed. Like seriously... i know sooo many people who supposedly have it. It's all a bunch of bullshit.

Is Shotokan Karate better for self defence than Boxing?

From what i've seen i prefer kyokushin karate over shotokan i train in muay thai which teaches blocks and attacks of what you listed i prefer it but you may prefer the karate try all of them out and see which if any you like can't say whether you would lose weight training thats really up to you
