If one is a skeptic, is it impossible for that individual to be a true Christian?

There were several instances where even Jesus' disciples lacked faith or didn't fully understand Jesus' mission. It's natural to be unsure about something as poignant as your faith. For many, skepticism leads to a greater understanding of their own beliefs.
