What should I say to her....for once I am at a loss for words?

My sister's baby was born at 26 weeks in February. He was a twin but his sister did not survive. He has had numerous surgeries for various reasons. A few weeks ago he had a bout of meningitis and a blood infection. Today she found out the results of a recent MRI and the doctors told her he had two fluid filled cysts on either side of his brain stem and that part of his brain has changed in composition and may not function properly which could result in sight damage and cerebral palsy. Based on those facts, the doctors feel his quality of life will not be good. But my nephew will be loved and I am hoping that will be enough to suffice. Unfortunately, I am a realist and I don't know what to say to her...
