Do you have elderly parents?

I live in FL and my parents live in Brazil. I miss them terribly, but cannot afford to bring them here to live with my husband and I right now because I am yet to finish my college (I'm going for nursing). I talk to my parents everyday. I worry too much with them. They are not "elderly" per say, because they lead an active life, but my dad is going to be 70 this year and my mom just turned 64. Added to that, they take care of my 27 year old brother who was born with cerebral palsy. They receive no government aid in Brazil, so you can imagine it's a hard life. Anyway... my mom has been falling on the street lately. I don't know exactly what's going on with her, but she's been having more falls than before. She blaims the sidewalk, but I think she' losing her balance, as all elderly people eventually do. I'm concerned with that. It puts me into the perspective that I'm 34 and my parents will need to be cared for very soon. How do you deal with the reality of your parents being elderly or needing your care, psychologically speaking? Do you live close to them? If not, how do you make sure they are safe and cared for? Thanks.
